114. Trees Are Selfish - Pohon yang Egois

In a vast meadow of lush trees grew a lot. From the roots of the trees beneath which flows the river water is very clear.

Among the trees, is a tree that selfish. She wanted to live alone so that she can have all sought alone. So she sense that the other trees go from there. With her evil mind, the trees were not at home and go one by one. Now that the tree be evil living alone.

She was happy because she was able to enjoy it all as much without sharing with other trees.

But the excitement did not last long. At night she fears alone. When there are high winds it nearly collapsed are not viable. The very sad thing is that once bountiful river, now dried up because it became bald. The tree water shortage.

Now she is crying day and night because suffer. She call trees that once she chased back again but none would. Because it is always sad, the tree becomes ill, her body emaciated and eventually die.

Di sebuah padang luas tumbuhlah banyak pohon yang subur. Dari akar pohon-pohon itu mengalirlah sungai di bawahnya yang airnya sangat jernih.


Di antara pohon-pohon itu, adalah sebatang pohon yang egois. Ia ingin hidup sendiri supaya segalanya dapat ia miliki sendiri. Maka dicarilah akal agar pohon-pohon yang lain pergi dari situ. Dengan akal jahatnya, pohon-pohon itu tidak kerasan dan pergi satu persatu. Kini jadilah pohon yang jahat itu tinggal sendirian. Ia senang sekali karena ia dapat menikmati segalanya sepuasnya tanpa berbagi dengan pohon lain.

Namun kegembiraannya itu tak berlangsung lama. Malam hari ia ketakutan sendirian. Ketika ada angin kencang ia hampir roboh tak mampu bertahan. Yang sangat menyedihkan adalah air sungai yang dulu melimpah, kini mengering karena tempat itu menjadi gundul. Pohon itu kekurangan air.

Sekarang ia menangis siang dan malam karena menderita. Ia memanggili pohon-pohon yang dulu ia usir supaya kembali lagi tetapi tak satupun mau. Karena selalu bersedih, pohon itu menjadi sakit, tubuhnya kurus dan akhirnya mati.

Itulah akibatnya jika pohon itu egois dan jahat. Begitu juga manusia. Semakin banyak teman, hidup kita semakin nyaman. Kita jadikan semua orang adalah saudara kita.
